About this check

The PSWQ is a 16-question scale that measures the tendency to worry — specifically, how much worry itself is a pattern for you, rather than whether any specific fear is realistic. It is the most-used worry measure in anxiety research.

Important: High scores do not mean you have an anxiety disorder. They mean your baseline tendency to worry is on the higher side. Treating worry at this level often helps wellbeing even without a formal diagnosis.

What your score means

Low worry · score 16–39

Your worry levels are on the lower end — you likely find it relatively easy to set worries aside.

Moderate worry · score 40–59

Your worry levels are in the moderate range. Worry is a real part of your experience but not constantly in the foreground.

High worry · score 60–80

Your worry levels are in the high range typical of people with generalised anxiety disorder. Worry this frequent and uncontrollable is exhausting and often affects sleep, focus, and relationships.
